![]() once you made a custom character, it won't follow you into a single player game or any game other than the one it was made in. So, any and all progress made by the other players will NOT carry over to their own saves. Once all the players are in the game and playing together, the game will autosave and save ONLY on the host side of things. ![]() If she joins AS I customize my character, it will say "A player has joined" and give her the ability to ALSO make her own character. She would NOT be able to make a custom character nor join unil that point. If players join AFTER that screen, they can only jump in and take over one of the NPC companions that have joined the party.įor example, if my Fiance wants to join a fresh game after I've made my character and started playing, she'll have to wait until AFTER I add The Red Prince to my party (since he's the first companion you have the option of picking up). When a multiplayer game is made, IF players join during the 'character creation' screen then the players will also be able to make custom characters. However, the same wouldn't be an option for my friend, and it really only makes sense if I keep the co-op playthough exclusively for co-op (and not progress it alone)? Follow-up question: So if my friend and I start a co-op playthrough, I can at any point continue the game alone, controlling every party member (including the character he created)? If you'r playing with someone, just have a separate playthrough only for co-op. In both 1st and 2nd game you can start new game together and your co-op partner(/s in 2nd game) gets to make their own character, although everything is on the host's end. If each player can indeed take their own characters and continue in a single player fashion, can they then again join up as a party later? However, once the initial gaming session is over, can player 2, 3, and 4 continue a single player game with their created characters? Or are their save files tied to player 1 (host)'s game world? We can't believe it's taken us this long to play. Is this handled differently in D:O2? I read that player 2 (and 3 and 4) can now create their own characters if they join a new session / new game. Let's get this straight, we are 100 obsessed with Divinity: Original Sin 2. However, player 2 gets no save file or personal progression. i understand in the first game player 2 could "jump in" and take over a member of player 1 (host)'s party.
